It has been awhile since the Bathtub Brew has been up and running. But low supply has created a brewing necessity! So out came all the equipment and we are making a new batch for the tasting pleasure.
The brewmaster has acquired another assistant this time around.Funny how a few years increases the amount of responsibility...
Wondering how this one is going to turn out. Hopefully tasty. A few weeks and we will find out for sure!

Taste-Testing the Bock
Popped the top on a bottle of Procrastinator Bock this week. Result: tasty, strong and worth the wait. I can't exactly feel my tongue by the end of the bottle but in a good way. This one is definitely a keeper!

High Yieldin' Bock!
We transfered the Bock today to the secondary fermenter. Since the Bock is a lager we kept it in the garage for a few days to cool the temp down. Supposedly Bocks are fermented at a low temperature. We will finish up the settling and fermenting process in the house this time around. I think this one is going to be our biggest yield yet. Somehow we managed to brew more than the carboy could hold and almost had an overflowing tragedy. Now that would have been a shame. All that good beer on the floor. Tsk, Tsk. The biggest tragedy about this brew is that since we did brew to much I actually had to dump it. I am ashamed to even type the words. If only we had had a second carboy to use. We will be bottling in the next week for sure. It will be interesting to see how many bottles we end up with this time.

Stinkonator Bock?
The Bock has been brewed and is now busy fermenting in the tub. Most of the time the homebrew sits innocently in the tub fermenting away. This time however it has a funk. Not a terrible funk but a funk nonetheless. I am hoping the finished product doesn't taste the way it smells because that would be a tragedy!

Death by Barleywine- The Results
Sampled my first bottle of Death tonight. Paired it with a nice steak and potato meal. Overall impression was nice taste and definitely some punch. About three drinks in the roof of my mouth went numb. Never a bad sign with a homebrew. Taste profile is somewhere between the West Coast Blonde and the Rockin' Red. Leaning toward the Blonde. All in all a success! I will be getting another kit before it goes away for the season.
Procrastinating No More!
Today the Procrastinator Bock was brewed. It has been sitting in the garage for about 3 months now. I have been procrastinating doing it. (and waiting for bottles to be emptied into my belly) It is now happily fermenting away in the tub. I added a few pounds of honey to the wort at the end. Hopefully it will kick up the alcohol content. Bock's are pretty high in content already but this one's starting gravity was 1.082. Not too shabby. Now for the fermentation wait and onto the bottles!

Anything New to the Brew?
In short no. However we are contemplating starting to brew our Procrastinator Bock that we have had sitting in the garage for awhile. The Death by Barleywine is almost complete. It should be perfect for sampling sometime in the beginning of March. The Bock takes awhile to age as well so this must be timed perfectly. Can't be without any homebrew in the house. That would be a tragedy!!!
